Movement Strategies is an innovative, diverse, and culturally interesting business with exciting ambitions. Hive IT designed and built two websites that reflect their values and ambition. The sites are the cornerstone for their marketing and customer acquisition strategy

the challenge

As an innovative business in their industry with exciting ambitions, Movement Strategies’ current websites just weren’t reflecting their passion and expertise. They had just two months to get two sites redesigned and built.

Movement Strategies needed a site for each of their locations that would:

  • Support business development by helping to acquire and nurture new leads

  • Support recruitment by showcasing employees and attracting new talent

  • Articulate mission, values, capabilities, and experience

  • Encourage shared identity across all company locations

the result

Working alongside the team at Movement Strategies, Hive IT redesigned and built two sites with a brand new look and feel that complements their internal brand and cutting-edge work. The sites have supported an increase in new business acquisition and an increase in role applications since their launch in May 2016.

We’re pleased with the results and your team have been fantastic, so thank you.

Managing Director, Movement Strategies

Redesigning and building two sites in the space of two months is quite a challenge. We ensured that we were giving the project the best possible foundation by choosing a series of tools and techniques to allow us to research, create, and iterate as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our approach to this project needed to be completely user-centric. As we were designing and building public facing websites, we kept Movement Strategies’ customers in mind at every stage of the project. SEO needed to also be a high priority consideration throughout this project. Because of our user-centric approach, we followed white hat best practice to focus on SEO optimisation for a human audience.

We kicked off the project by facilitating a two day user experience workshop at Movement Strategies’ UK office in London.

Together, we created personas for six key types of users, mapped their customer journeys in great detail, and organised the content identified in the workshop into a simple site map. By day two we were sketching out initial ideas for the sites, from page layouts to simple interactions

Taking the ideas and outcomes from the workshop, we created the initial prototypes using Moqups. We chose Moqups for the first round of prototypes as it allowed us to create, share, and get remote feedback on designs quickly.

Once we’d settled on the basic interaction and visual designs, we moved the design and prototyping process onto Webflow. This tool would allow us to iteratively build, test, and improve our prototypes to  arrive at a finished product, all on one platform.

content management system

As well as using it as a prototyping and design tool, we chose Webflow as the Content Management System (CMS) for the project. Having an all-in-one tool meant that Movement Strategies could add structured, semantic content alongside our development of the iterative prototypes. This, once again, allowed us to work efficiently to the extremely tight deadline.

I would like to say a huge thank you for all your hard work and patience. We officially have two brilliant websites and couldn’t have done it without your help. We are very pleased with the outcome.

the finished product

The finished products are two customer facing websites. They are fully accessible, mobile and SEO optimised, with a brand new look and feel that clearly articulates Movement Strategies' mission, values, capabilities, and experience. The sites complement their internal brand and cutting-edge work in a way that has contributed to an increase in new business acquisition and an increase in role applications since launch.
